Default Finally Finished My Second Quilt

I having been trying to learn to quilt a little over a year. I love piecing the tops. And have done several. But have been scared to death of trying to actually finish! I did finish one last year, but I just sewed on the back and flipped it. Then I tied it. So no real quilting and no binding. Now, I have been determined to finish a baby quilt for my daughter's best friend. And I did it! I am so pleased and excited. I know there are lots of flaws! But at least it is finished! I quilted by machine. I would love to hand quilt, but I don't think I have enough years left to do all the quilts in my head. So for now I tried machine quilting. I attached the binding to the front by machine and then hand sewed the back. I learned a lot. Now I am ready to try to finish some of the other tops I have complete. Here is the back. I want to make a little rag doll with a dress that matches the binding. You did a great job. Prarie points are an ambitious undertaking for a second quilt. Well done.

I just smiled when I saw your quilt. It's lovely. I just finished the same pattern for a friend's new grandson. I'm am putting Minky on the back, so I will have it quilted by a long arm quilter. I haven't attempted FMQ with Minky yet. You did a great job. Congratulations.

Lois, I saw a photo of yours after I had started mine. It was stunning. Isn't it fun to see how different the same pattern can look with different fabrics? Yours looked very much for a boy and I think mine is girly.
