I made a similar quilt without sashing. This is what it looks like without sashing.

WOW, I love that layout. See, you gals are so much more advanced and creative than I am. Thanks to all for the ideas and thoughts. I love them. I also like the bold solids mixed in. It really makes the entire thing stand out

I love the motion you get without any sashing. The secondary pattern really shows up and makes the quilt jump forward and back. I wouldn't add sashing. It makes the blocks totally static.

I like the sashing. It just adds some pop!

Yes, both are great in their own way. I guess it's just what you like best. I usually like sashing, but the one without sashing looks very nice.

Sashing. It makes it easier to look at and you see the beautiful blocks better.

My vote is NO sashing......but I think you also need to consider the size you want. If you want a larger quilt, the sashing will help accomplsh this.

I vote for no sashing! I like the new pattern it forms.

By using the sashing, each block stands out.
Without the sashing it's a fun optical illusion.

Your choice. Each one has it's good points.

And yes, this quilt is worth your effort. I'd hope it makes you smile each time you look at it... cause it was created from inspiration!

I'd do it quilt-as-you-go style and use sashing to cover where you've joined the quilted blocks together. Just think, when you're done, you're done; not all that much effort after all for a quilt you're already not sure if it's worth the effort.
