*LOL* Read every message I've ever posted and you might guess that I LOVE the new Pantone Radiant Orchid as the colour of the year.

The funny (peculiar) thing is that I bought four orchid batiks yesterday at Kapaia (favorite LQS) to swap out for the greens in Bonnie Hunter's new mystery quilt-along.

Now that I know Radiant Orchid is the Colour of the Year 2014, maybe I need to go back and buy a few more .....

I'll add thank goodness for Pantone's changing up "The Colour" every year. Otherwise we'd be bored to tears for lack of choices. JMNSHO.

I'm a fan of purple too - so I'd welcome as many purple, orchid, mauve etc fabrics as possible. There are not nearly enough in the market place. I'm always on the look out for them.

I like purple and I like pink but, this one is too close to Barney Purple. I'll stay away unless it's used in the center or as an accent to a flower.

It is ok, but does not really tickel my fancy.

I am using my scraps and then from my stash. Doubt I have that exact color. I never go with trends or fads.
Who died and left them in charge?

I am also one of the people who loves purple..Glad to see it announced on Good Morning America today. I also miss the orange from a couple of years back.

I heard blue was the color to look for at the last quilt market.

It is not self-praise as much as the pantone chart is used consistently in the graphics and printing business. Pantone colors are formulated precisely and can be reproduced with consistency and accuracy.

I like the color. How much of it will make it into my life is questionable. I didn't add any emerald this year either.

Yes I will. As a matter of fact I will be starting my GD's quilt, after the first of the year. Her favorite color? Lavender! I will be adding a little darker purple, sage green, cream, and hints of a rose pink.
