    That sensation was what my husband, the electrician, calls stray voltage. There is not a ground on these machines and that would have helped, but check to see if anything is grounding to the frame. I got a solid state foot controller from Sew-Classic.com and it was the best money I ever spent. It makes the machine lighter to carry too. Good score.
