I have 18 Craftsy classes and just bought another one--Start Foundation Paper Piecing with Elizabeth (don't call me Betsy). I love it so far. I have been paper piecing for quite awhile but decided it was time to learn to do it correctly. I have watched the first three lessons and it looks excellent. Please feel free to PM with any questions and I will try and help.

I'm not familiar with your possible choices, however, I have taken the BOM for 2012, the one for 2013, the paper piecing class from Carol Doak (I have taken classes from her before and she's excellent, I met her through my quilt guild in NH) and one other class, but I'm having a Sr. moment so I can't remember what it was. So far I have not been disappointed in any of my class choices, but I generally wait until there is a sale, especially since I'm on a fixed income.

[QUOTE=elnan;6990462 When I go to the Craftsy site, about 1/3 of my screen is covered with a message that they do not support my version of Internet Explorer, and to switch to Firefox or Google Chrome. I'm using Vista and IE 9 is as far as I can go. .[/QUOTE]

I have Vista and use Firefox with no problems. It's free to download and use.

I have problems viewing their videos on firefox (I have a recent version but not the most recent). I did some searching and I guess chrome is the best one to use with it so I've been using that.

Thanks for this link. I just purchase the Carol Doak's class and I have learned quite a bit so far. I am only part way through but it is definitely worth the money.

I have taken Designing Modern Quilts, Improvational Piecing modern Design, all of Angel Walters' classes as well as several others. I am hooked on Craftsy. I love being able to watch the videos on my time frame and as many times as I want. I don't really think that Craftsy "cherry picks the reviews they post. I have never heard anyone say that they were not happy with Craftsy classes. They have sales all the time, so I just add new classes to my wishlist and wait for it to go on sale to purchase it.

I have done one of Leah Day's classes and thought it was excellent. Also took one of Angela Walters but didn't care for it as much and when I read her reviews, there were quite a few that were negative. I have several other classes that I have signed up for but not had time to do yet. Good luck!

You're right, of course they cherry pick which reviews are posted at the top of the heap. That aside, I haven't done a single Craftsy class that disappointed me. I have several and while I've felt a better rapport with some teachers than others, Craftsy is my go-to online quilting school. Have you tried some of the free classes to see how you like them? There are quite a few, and I've enjoyed them.

I'm doing the travel organizers class right now and I have to say, it is excellent. I get annoyed when instructors say "unpick" (because it makes no sense to me) but otherwise it's great and is holding my interest so far.

I have not taken the Craftsy class, but have had the great pleasure of taking classes with Ann Petersen in person. She is an award winning quilter who does most or all of her quilting on her regular sewing machine. I am planning on signing up for this class while it is on sale.
