My husband and I are going to the show. We've done this for a few yrs.. He enjoys the bed turning show, and then he takes me to the fabric shops. Last yr. he went to the motel while I was at the show, and when he got on the elevator two ladies said we bet you aren't going to the quilt show. He told them it was a good thing they didn't put up any money because they would lose big time. LOL We should all wear name tags so we can meet each other!!!!

What is the weather usually like in Pigeon Forge in March? Never been there in the springtime.

It's anybody's guess. I've been going for 5+ years and seen everything from snow flurries to 80 degrees. I would say the norm has been in the mid-40's at night and high 50's, low 60's during the day - during mid March. Sorry, I know that wasn't much help. I'll be watching the forecast on the Weather Channel website for the next few weeks.

Is it usually as crowded as the Paducah show is? I have heard that that is so crowded that you can hardly get around to see things. Don't really enjoy that kind of crush of bodies to see displays, etc.

Last year they had moved it to the new Leconte Convention center, which is huge. There was plenty of room for guests with walkers/wheelchairs. I think they even rented motorized scooters for those who have a difficult time getting around. I think the stories of the crowds may have been from years' past when the show was divided into 2 locations. Those were rather small, and yes they did get crowded. It's not a huge show like the AQS shows (ie. Paducah).

You all are tempting me soooo much to go! It is probably too late to get into a class, but shopping and seeing beautiful quilts sounds like a great break from this cold & snowy winter!
