Thank you everyone, I will follow your advice. Many great ideas here, as usual! I'm so grateful, I've learnt a lot reading this board.

Happy New Year, my best wishes for all of you.

I attach the label after quilting and before I put the binding on, I place it on the right bottom corner and sew 2 sides with the binding and applique the other 2 sides.

This link has a section on labels. I have started using the triangle in the bottom corner and then saw the idea about adding ric rac....cute!!!

If I know who the quilt is going to, frequently I'll piece the label into the center of the backing and treat it just like any other pieced backing - that way I avoid the hand sewing part (my hands really hate it). If I have to do a label after the quilt is quilted, I'll take a square, fold it in half diagonally and put it in the corner - I'll sew it on when I sew the binding on by machine and I'll have only one side to hand sew and the triangle looks cool in the corner!

Exactly what maryb119 said. That is how I do mine too.
Don't stress over the small stuff. Relax and enjoy the process.

Here's what I have been doing lately in the binding--I like this for bed quilts. For an art quilt I would use a bigger label.
