    The manual has the oil spots, there are a lot of them, everywhere metal meets metal, except the gears, which require lubrication.

    I don't know what the plastic thing is in you box of parts, but to FMQ, you lift the plate with the lever at the left side of the base. Right is down, Center is up for darning and FMQ, and left to remove the plate.

    This is my main machine, acquired used as a high school graduation gift from parents.
