Wow, that's pretty and sure a heck of a lot of work!! I admire your perseverance. No clue about binding it, but congrats on your near-finish.

Oh that's so pretty!!!!!!!!
I'm working on a hexi right now but mine is just scrappy. I now wish I had done a design but it's too late for this one. I have no idea how I'm going to finish the edges since I haven't done one before. I enjoy working on it at night.
Thanks for the post!

Ps. Your heading made me laugh!

I know the method of using green diamonds also. According to my relatives, that is the "garden path" through the flower garden.

Your work is amazing and the result gorgeous. I would think it could be bound with a much narrower binding so the inside corners aren't too bulky.

Go to busyfingerspatchwork.com Sue Daley is wonderful, she is the queen of hexies and other English Paper Piecing, she is also very willing to help and will reply to questions.

It measures 96x96 on the widest part. I learned a lot about color. Didn't have a clue when I started and now I would do differently. Especially buy more ombre fabric. Didn't have a pattern just a photo on the internet, had never worked with hexis exclusively. Has anyone bound this sort of project maintaining the integrity of the hexagons? Any worthwhile tips because it took two hours just to staystitch around this critter before taking to the hand quilter.
Go to pinterest and type in binding a hexagon quilt in the search engine and you will find a tutorial.

We finished a GFG that a woman couldn't finish because she got sick. One of our members did a "Knife Edge Binding" and it looked beautiful. Both seam allowances, front and back, are folded in and the edge is hand sewn. Some of the batt needs to be trimmed to do this.

There are several ways to bind keeping the integrity of the hexies. Try favequilts.com for a tute on the way I did one. This was fairly easy to do. I would do it again. Your quilt is beautiful.
