Need washer and dryer

Steer clear of LG. My repair guy told me that. I've been very happy with my Whirlpools--my washer has no agitator and I like that because my big quilts fit. I just had to get a new dryer because the mother board died and is no longer made, so I bought a very basic dryer without a mother board---it's very basic.
My daughter bought her first house and it came with Speed Queen w/d. I was excited for her. LOL

we have a top loader with an impeller and I use the bulky setting with high soil level and everything comes out very clean, it's 8 years old so far (LG) and I'm happy with it, our previous set lasted 14 years, was a Kenmore with an agitator that ended up rusting beyond repair sadly.
my MIL meanwhile, is still using the Kenmore set she bought in the late 70s and it's working perfectly, she's had them repaired like twice.

Our Speed Queen is a model AWNE9RSN115TW01 also known as a Commercial Heavy Duty. We absolutely love this machine. No problems whatsoever with it and the clothes come out clean every time.

If I was young and had lots of laundry to do for the family I would buy the Speed Queen to last. At my age I don't really care about how long an appliance will last. Our clothes do not get dirt dirty anymore and I don't have enough unwashed laundry that keeps the washer going constantly. Buying a good washer that works for a reasonable cost is more logical for my needs.

I was surprised that the stackable washer and dryers have really good reviews from apartment and condo owners. If provided with the apartment they last through many renters. A central laundry room at many apartment buildings have the stackables. More units in less space.

one of those one unit, washer on bottom, dryer on top? both my son's apartments had one of those in his unit and he loved them! they cleaned very well and if you are tall, not bending to unload the dryer is very nice!
