Tigger, that is the year I had my son and the neighbor and hubby were constantly shoveling so his wife and I who were both due could get to the hospital. Good thing the hospital was only 3 blocks away, the ice was 3-4" thick on the streets and we slide all the way there!

How is everyone in the snowy areas today?

They're plowing our (apartment complex) parking lot as I write this. A couple hours ago, they tamped down the snow behind my car so I could back out and re-park elsewhere, but they haven't plowed my parking space yet. The lot is that big, and of course, there's that much snow.

But it's warm, and it's thawing fast. Lots of slush on the unplowed side street, but the main road is clear, if wet.

It'll probably freeze a sheet of ice on the roads tonight, but I'm betting it won't be much more than a memory by Tuesday.

I called kwhite who's in Mifflin County, and she said "Oh, we only had about 12 inches here, that's nothing." So evidently the southern and western edges got the worst.

We are near Muncy, got maybe 1-2", just went shopping in Williamsport and I think they got a little more. Phew! The worst passed us by!

Barb - If it missed you totally, you must be a little north east of us, what county are you in?

    The newspaper said we got 22 inches. I'd guessed 18 - 20.

GOOD GRIEF, they are forecasting another 6 to 8 inches here tomorrow. My golden retrievor only has a path in the yard now! We already have 23 inches in yard now :(.

    I hate winter.

    Oh, poor dog!

I thought it was supposed to snow - lightly - on Weds. But now it's saying "significant" snow for tomorrow night. Maybe another 5 inches? Guess I'm off to refill my supply of bottled water and fresh fruit (and sundry other things, including junk, probably).
