Never realized how much that quilting is my Therapy until my grandmother was sick for a while and I was unable to quilt for sometime. After her death I started back and I felt so much better, with Quilting and chocolate we can make it.

This brought back memories of why I really got involved in quilting. I had played around with quilting but it wasn't until after my dad passed that I got into it seriously. I needed the comfort of the fabric, the busyness of the mind and the knowledge that I was making something that would last longer than I would. I did some of my most complex patterns then, really forced myself to think only about the quilt. I think I've got lazy since then & need to stretch myself farther. After 9/11 my daughter was in Az alone while her husband was overseas. Since we couldn't get to her, she would wrap my grandsons in quilts I made them, ever so tightly, & tell them it was a Gramma hug. Quilting is enjoyable but the enjoyment last long after the quilt is finished. I guess that is mostly why I quilt.

It is a little electrical plastic gadget which has a choice of 4 sounds. It just makes the sounds of birds, etc. and repeats every so often so it sounds continous. I don't know where she got it.

I listen to music-mostly country but sometimes I'm in the mood for New Age,Jazz or Lite Piano on AOL radio. TV is too much of a distraction for me.

Usually have the TV on - but not necessarily watching it. Sometime I will listen to a CD. Quilting and tolepainting are my 2 favorite therapies.
