Thanks for everyone's comments. I did just that - and she took it right back off! She also wants to make the valance and pillow shams herself. I did do the quilting. I'm a beginner at machine quilting which is why there was not a close up of the quilt (lol). I need lots and lots of practice to make even stiches.

Awesome job. Did you do the quilting?

Welcome!

Love the quilt for your mom. Tell her not to wait, use it now, enjoy it and maybe it will inspire her to get the curtains and pillow shams quicker.

If she is like me, I would procrastinate on getting those items and the quilt would never grace the bedroom.

I've finally finished it! (It's only taken a little over 2 years.) I'm the queen of procrastination. The real kicker is that she won't put it on her bed...she wants to wait until she gets her new curtains and pillow shams made and makes the rest of the room 'pretty' to go with it. Go figure.
Absolutly wonderful! Use the quilt! that's what it was made for! I've made many quilts only to find the people they were gifted to hide them away for "good". What's the point?
