I lost my recipe for this quick toffee and am so delighted that you posted it. My family loves it.

I made these years ago and used Keebler Club crackers.

Since I've never made them with saltines, I'm thinking that the Keebler version may be a little "butterier" (is that a word??!!)

It's a word only in the cooking world!! haha! I love that cracker called "Crackles" and of course I love the Jewish food called matzah that would work well and Carr's water cracker is good to try too! Then there's Ritz' buttery rounds, hahaha. Oh, what fun to experiment!!

    :-D :-D

I have made these for years. Makes a wonderful (cheap) hostess gift! I add chopped walnuts (pecans, whatever) to the top and kinda smash them into the melted choc. Want a REAL treat?????? Keep them in the FREEZER and eat frozen. yummmmmmmmmm

I just got done printing it out and I certainly will have to give it a try. It sure sounds easy and GOOD.

I printed the recipe and will try them tomorrow. Would make them tonight, but the caffene in chocolate keeps me awake.

I put crushed almonds on the top of mine. The first time I made these my son said-Mom, you don't like saltines! I said -If you put enough butter and chocolate on it-i will eat it! I also like to take the "crumbs" and sprinle it on ice cream. YUM

I make this all the time too, but add finely chopped nuts on the top. A friend told me you can also use graham crackers, but I like the taste of the saltines.
