    A border around each was my first idea, too. Someone else suggested a simple block between, rather than a blank block -- depends on whether you want to add a hand-quilted design to blank blocks.
    The blocks remind me of some painted ones my mother made in the 50's. I made fabric frames for two for my neice in the 80's.

    It may be hard to see in the picture that all the "blocks" I inherited were different sizes, so I just added random sized strips around them until they were all the same size.

    carrie thats just amazing! you did a wonderful job. Did the threads come with the blocks, moms dont match very well, It took me and the quilt shop lady an hour or so to decide on the right fabrics.
