I'm not that crazy about log cabin quilts, although I have seen some that are beautifully done with unusual orientation of the blocks to make it more interesting. But ones that I really don't care for are flying geese blocks...I don't know if I had a bad experience with a goose as a child or what, but I just really don't care for them! :D

I don't like Convergence quilts, and quilts made with the Jelly Rolls that have every color and pattern in a line.....too darn busy. I made two for a friend who owns a quilt shop and I hated every step of it. I didn't mind the pattern, just the fabrics. Maybe because out of all of them, there were only a couple I might have considered buying, but then that's true of any of the Jelly Rolls I've seen in quilt shops. I do like the strip rolls I picked up in Walmart on clearance....there are more strips of the same color and the patterns and colors are limited to about 10....that I can deal with.

I do love Log Cabins, Paper Pieced and Scrap Quilts (controlled).

Had to laugh at this one....I don't like the traditional Sunbonnet Sue & Sam, but love the more modern quilts I've seen made of her in different situations, including the "Kill Sue" quilts. Saying that, I own 40 sixteen inch blocks my mother made using polyester blend fabrics. She satin stitched around some of them (not very well) and just straight stitched around others. She gave them to me 5-7 years ago and I haven't gotten myself revved up enough to work on them. Can't stand working on them, can't stand to throw them away. One of these days, I will finish them and give them to the granddaughters (her great GD).....whether or not they will like them, I don't care, they will be out of my hands.

I'm also not found of Dresden Plates pattern and 30's fabric.
