'twas the week before opening secret Santa delights
After much shaking of boxes which of course isn't right
The decisions were made, the wrapping all done
We had hopefully made timely post office runs.
Friends held our boxes so we would not peek.
Hard to believe we just had to wait one more week.
We had no snow and our tree was not lit
But still it felt like Christmas every bit.
The holiday feeling came along with the gift
It sure gave my holiday spirit a lift.
All of the merriment shown on these posts
All of the good cheer counted the most.
The radio is playing holiday songs
Just to bring good Christmas vibes along.
    Stores looking festive, homes lit in green and red;
These last seven days are moving ahead.
Santa has elves who are quite a crew
But not as appreciated as all of you!
You bring out the best in each of us all
Unlike the grinch your hearts are not two sizes too small.
Since I've hooked up with you merry men and maids
I've had more fun than at Christmas parades.
I've seen victorian strolls and a holiday movie,
But honestly pals you are more groovy.
Some claim to be naughty and you know who you are
But naughty or nice you are darling by far!
So as Santa prepares to give his team a whistle
So they can fly like the down on a thistle.
I'd like to exclaim as opening day is in sight
    Merry Christmas to you all!
(and I hope you like your presents).
    Good night!

Is it allowed to mention a shop that did a really nice thing last week? The Quiltbug in Esperence ny gave a fat quarter of fabric for every can good donated to help flood victims of hurricane Irene in the Schoharie area. They also sold donated books, patterns, magazines for 25 cents, 1 dollar or 5 dollars to help that cause. I had fun with the donated items I bought and got some great fabric while there. Can't have too many patterns. Thechristmas spirit is the spirit of sharing snd they have it.

I use to think people had one sewing machine and sold the older one because that's what poorer people do, and I was poor. So I bought a machine from the newspaper on time and it weighed tons, made of heavy metal. Then I graduated and got a job and bought a Sears kenmore. Later got a New Home gift from hub. Then I saw a feather weight and drove back to buy it. I thought I was Odd having more than one machine but I got a Brother to keep at camp and liked it so well I got another this year for home use. Just Walmart cheap ones but nice. I'm glad to read others are like this too. My family do not sew and think I'm ready for the hoarded tv show.
