I dug out the fabrics I had saved for another quilt I never made and will be able to use those for my blocks! It's kind of plain, no fancyprints but I think it will go well with all the blocks I have chosen.
It is all washed and dried and I will press it before I cut!

Now all I have to do is finish up another project before I tackle this one.
I'm looking forward to some sewing sessions!
:D

5 more posts by the time I typed this! I'm slow!
Lovely block Dojo! Great fabric selection and great sewing!

Dojo, I see by your avatar, you have a strict quality control inspector. :D

thanks Suzie, and yes ducky this big lug of a cat (14 lbs.) won't leave me alone no matter what i'm doing. she has even stood on top of my sewing machine, lays on the paper when i'm trying to work a puzzle, lounges on the back of my chair when i'm sewing or reclining watching tv. she is such a pest, can't help but love her though. hey everybody, if i decide to do another 12 blocks and do something a little more challenging to me, what would be a good and pretty block to do and still be for a beginner.

I'll probably lay the blocks out in stacks. Take the origianl owners block and then add 11 more from the piles. I"ll figure it out somehow when the time comes
How about sorting as the envelopes arrive? Take the first twelve envvelopes that arrive and sort and set aside...the next set of twelve envelopes and so on...once you get towards the end and don't have another set of twelve you can swap and mix as needed few sets rather than the masses.
