Judy - I knew you would love the red polka dots! I am going to play around with a couple other star shapes too, but I think I agree about only putting them in the corners.

Thanks for the offer Judy. Anything you could do would be appreciated. The white center of mine is only about 4" so it would be hard to do any applique in that small of a space - hence my request for help. My eyes are as old as I am and small pieces are not as easy as they used to be and my hand stitching skill are almost non existent.

I think it would be cool to have the dragonfly be in the colors of the quilt (blue, green, and purple) just like the label on the back will be done.

I do like the little stars. The whole border you are working on puts a different spin on the feel of the quilt! It makes me think of a starry night or a galaxy, which I think looks great. The style of stars you show add to that feel.( Rather than an eight pointed star like the center). I really think it looks great, but what does yaya like? N.

Nice job ladies, can't wait to see each piece as it progresses.

I really like the scrappy feel Yaya's quilt is taking on. I hope she does too. Paula, thanks for the dimensions on your center. I will start looking for a pattern I like. (Small patterns, I can do.)

Thanks Nancy and Judy. Yes, I am curious what Yaya has to say about my idea too.

    Hi all!

Happy New Year! Can't believe how fast these first days of the new year are flying by. We just got back from a destination wedding at the Treasure Island Hotel in Las Vegas and are getting ready to head to Indio, CA for an RV Rally today. I just got my Christmas decorations packed back into their storage boxes yesterday. I haven't had one minute to sew since the Thursday before Christmas, so needless to say, I haven't started the border for this round (and I thought I'd be less busy after Christmas to complete this round).

Anyway, with that being said, I will not make the new deadline for mailing by the 10th. I'm so sorry mine will be late. I will work on it as soon as possible after this trip (won't have any time to sew so I'm not even taking any sewing with me). I will try to mail it by the 15th or 16th.

Love how my center is evolving! I actually never really imagined any borders on it so each one has been a nice addition. I like the fact that each round is a beautiful "surprise" from each of you creative Robins!

Karen, glad to know that you like what we have done to your center. I am ready to ship on to Gena when she is ready to receive it.

Good Morning, friends! I am so excited with how Gena's quilt is coming together! I love her quilt, maybe you fall in love with something that you look at every time you sit down to sew and it is on the wall in front of you. Anyway, I have everything ready to sew together and the stars are done, but I'm waiting on the day that I have the time. I've been helping my daughter with some sewing and it seems like my weeks fill up with winter activities. I am getting ready to make a "shed quilt" for my garden shed. Can't decide on the quilt block I am going to use.
I think Gena's round for me is not due until March 10th, if my calculations are right? It is my third round, and I could be confused! Or is it due Feb. 10? I plan to be done with it soon, whatever the deadline is!

I'm not in the group but I have to ask, Jillnjo, what is a shed quilt? Is is to put on the outside of a greenhouse/shed or is it to put over plants on the inside? I've never heard of this...enquiring minds want to know.

Andii~ It is actually the same thing as a barn quilt! They are made of sheets of plywood that are 8ft. by 8ft. square and painted with a chosen quilt block pattern, then put on sides of barns. But mine will be smaller and placed on my garden shed. I've always wanted one and you can google how to make them, which is what I did.
I must have sounded very confusing as I reread what I posted and I see why you ask what you did! .
