All our Walmarts by me (middle of CT) closed their fabric departments and put in that stupid Celebration aisle. I have never seen anyone in it. Gee you think they would have done some focus groups or something to see if getting rid of their fabric was a good idea. We have the LQS scattered around and Joann's of course (I am SO tired of their stuff - it never changes...)but since The Fabric Place closed, we really don't have many places to get reasonably priced fabrics. I love the LQS but its hard for them to compete ($9.00/yd is just too much...) - we have no Hancocks or Keepsake Quilting here.....

This is great news------ BUT that was the rumor over a year ago and one by one they are taking the fabric out of all the Walmarts in this area. What's up?

Same here. I have no reason to drive the few extra miles to shop there now. I have other stores closer to me. The only reason I went to WalMart was their fabric department then stayed to buy clothes and food.
Same here....only when the music got too loud, the "commercials" were in Spanish, and the aisles were soooo crowded that you couldn't move.......well I had a panic attack right then and there...couldn't breathe, couldn't think, couldn't move. :-(

After this happened four times, I gave up. I shop only at Target now, and LQS for fabric......and only on extremely rare occasions, like less than once a yr, do I venture into a Walmart...and NEVER EVER ALONE........

Guess I just can't handle what the Walmart powers that be deem is to be my shopping experience...........you know, that "international, extremely crowded" experience in my own backyard.......

But for those of you who can and do enjoy shopping at Walmart...congrats on getting your voice heard....

Ditto---I hate having to drive 97 miles to small town to get fabric from Walmarts...But they have good buys...for us on a budget!
Where do you find a Walmart fabric dept. within 95 miles in Oklahoma??? I thought they closed all our fabric depts.

The 2 WM closest to me quit selling bolts & those pkgs are too expensive. Found 1 that still has the bolts but it's farther away, so that's where I'll shop. I'm over in that area quite a lot, picking up GDs, etc.
