    I called it "ugly" because in my small stash, the speckled brown fabric is the "ugliest" fabric I could find and that was the assignment...to take "ugly" fabric and see what kind of block you could make with it. I actually like the block because by using some additional fabrics and a rather contemporary block design I was able to make a rather interesting block! Like someone else posted above..."the duck becomes the swan"! ;-)
