I'm fortunate to have a "fabric room". I store 1" pieces in a bin, 2" pieces in another, etc. I curently have 2" squares for a scrappy quilt in a plastic small tote that I work on in my spare time.

You sound like me. I put them in a plastic container until full or I get ambitious and then I cut them into squares which are stored by size. I throw out the tiny bits of fabric - just don't need it any longer.

I store mine by color and size in stacks this way I see what I have when I make scrap quilts for charity. If you don't want to be bothered with your scraps I'll pay postage for them. I never have too many scraps or remnants for the kids quilts I make and donate to kids in crisis, help closet.

Scraps too small or odd for quilt top potential go in an old pillow case. When there are enough my granddog loves them as a 'bed'.

I use the square clear plastic boxes that grape tomatoes come in at Sam's Club to store charm sized squares. Larger plastic boxes that kiwi come in for jelly roll sized strips, rolled up. I recently cut up all my misc. scraps into 2", charm sized, and jelly-roll sized pieces (in various lengths). I decided to keep it to three sizes since I don't have a lot of storage space and the more things I have the same size the more likely I will USE them instead of COLLECT them. I'm determined not to build up a huge stash, but continually use it.

I'm cramped for space so I put my scraps in a pillow case & stuff it in the top of the closet out of my way. How's that for being organized? ;-)

I do mine in color also then fold if big enough and baggies for smaller and reach in there for just that right piece frequently.
