I'm not sure you can control the positioning of the colors or prints in these quilts. The surprise of the finished product is what is exciting and attractive.
We did these at a loal shop recently and sent the tops to the Alabama group making qults for toronado folk. It was realy a fun day.

It's actually quite cool looking...maybe not what you had in mind, but cool nonetheless. To me it has a contemporary feel.

That's what's fun about those strippy quilts. You get to throw strips together and the real FUN is seeing what it looks like in the end. I love the sponteneity (sp?) of doing them. I love yours. I have made several and each one is totally different than the one before. Just finished one yesterday with sashing and borders, no pics yet. I just got a Long Arm a couple months ago and am in the practicing stage, so I love the strippy quilts to practice meandering on. There are no mistakes with them.

I'm making another one today. It will be from a Moda Flag Day Jelly roll. I think I'll sew the strips how they are layered in the roll and not try to plan. I'm doing this for the guild program and of course everyone is going to ask why this and that. I can say there is no why. LOL
