I would take anybody's 200 dollar bill for this and next month any time! We rent and the AC is OLD! We have about 900 square feet and our bill will be close to 400 this month and no, we don't have it at 60 but at 80-85 most of the time...... We need to move!

We have lots of shade trees front and back yard but with the 100+ temps, the last bill was $270 for just less than 1600 sq ft. I hate to think about the next one. I noticed they raised our rate on the last bill also. I am so thankful for our well so we can keep the yard from dying and keep the foundation in good shape.

You can pretty much figure most ppl in Texas will have bills close to $400. this month. I have a 5200 sq ft house with pool and spa...everything energy efficient to the hilt, we keep upstairs and downstairs thermometers at 77 and our bill was $620 last month.

Another thing to add to my last post, I also have venetian blinds inside the windows, under the drapes. My house is about 1500 hundred feet or so. And in the unneeded service porch Southern window, that has a lovely view of the neighbor's garage, I put in a layer of foil, then bubble wrap and a heavy quilt/curtain. Unless the dryer and washer are on, it's not to bad to do my ironing there in summer.
Have any of you put in any of that heat saving film I've read about?
