At first I liked the stripe. Then I saw the black inner border. So now I'm not sure. Wish I saw more of quilt with the stripe. If you need to add more to increase size, maybe use the stripe. There is so much color going on it may work. Good luck and send pics when done, please.

I would use a 1" small solid dark border, then the stripe.

I like the strip border and then it cut on the bias for your binding, but the stripes don't match. Would they match if you swapped ends with the strip?

It would be nice to see the quilt laying flat. Right now I do not like the striped border. The quilt fabric I see is beautiful and I would lay various colors of red/black next to it. Maybe after a solid color the stripe would be okay.
