Mine would be a lighthouse on a hillside overlooking the sea. It reminds me of the light of God shining to guide the way of the lost.

Mine would be a Medallion Quilt. I try to live a Christ centered life.

Wow, this is a great thread!! I am having a very hard time choosing! But I think I would choose a scrappy, colorful fancy dresden plate because all the colors would represent the colors of the rainbw, hope, happiness, sadness but that life comes full circle no matter how many challenges cross our paths.

Log cabin. Makes me think of the heart of the home and family.

Thanks Michele, I love your idea, and suits my life to a "T".

I think the log cabin would be my choice next to crazy quilt in second place - my favorite two quilt patterns and sort of like my life also - beginnings in an old farm house as a child and my life has been crazy ever since!!! :)

I would definitly go with a Log Cabin. One step at a time until it is finished. You never know for sure how it will look until you are done - same as life.

In our sewing group, we decided to do a row for each person and pass it on. We first had to write a little story telling about ourselves, dreams, some thoughts, etc. I chose my family and thus started with a stick figure of each person in my family along eith the dog and the cat and then I passed it on to the next person. (We chose the colors that we wanted to use.) After 2 years we got back all the rows that were to represent us, and I have to say, I was very pleased with mine. I have lived a Christ centered, Church oriented life for a very long time, and it was the only thing missing from all the strips. I told myself that I could add that row myself, but decided maybe my light didn't shine through enough. I sent it to Charisma and she did a wonderful job with the quilting. It is to encourage me to let my light shine a little brighter! I called it my Memory Quilt.

I like the idea of a row by row to express all the travels, friends, joys, disaster, and things survived in my first 70 years of life.

Boy, the questions on this board get one to thinking! Love this one. I guess mine would be a stormy sea on top corner, an isand lagoon on bottom corner with crazy quilt blocks in the middle.
