We only had 8" here. Didn't lose power but pent the time painting the room which should be my sewing room but I'm sharing, once again, as a bed room.

I've always wanted a treadle- does your treadle have a story behind it?

That is just gorgeous! I don't envy you being without power, but otherwise I am just jealous.

Here just north of Philly, it was mostly slush and is mostly gone, though some of the fields still have a topping of snow. Even so, several people not so far from me have lost power.

Really, you'd think with all the technology we have, they could find a way to prevent power outages from storms.

Also a way to predict which trees or major branches are likely to fall in a storm and remove them before they do harm.

Up here in the snowbelt, the power companies do a terrific job of trimming trees back so we don't lose power. The trees may look a little funny, but losing power for a few days is nothing to laugh at if you don't have any backup for heat and water pumps. I cannot remember any time we lost power for more than a couple hours or so.

The first snow of the season is always the most beautiful. I wouldn't get anything done all day, other that look at this scenery.
