Cute idea. My old spools are hidden in a drawer. I may have to try this. The measuring tape bow is a neat idea too. Would it be "too much" with a few old buttons added?

That is really cute-unfortunately, I had a huge shoebox FULL of old wooden spools and gave them to my nephew's wife who loved collecting vintage sewing stuff, and shortly after, split from him and moved away. Now, I wish I had them back-thought they were just junk at the time!

I can see this as a clock. Using embroidered face, OR small scissors as the hands, a tape measure cut for the
clock face numbers, possibilities are endless.

The other day I found a spool ring I made for DGdau 30 years ago.......empty wood spools on an elastic band, tied at the end. Will let her daughter have it next time they visit. She cut her teeth on these and my wooden fruit I had on the coffee table.

Fond memories.
