Find a border fabric you like, put it around each square, sew in rows and you have a new quilt.

    Check out this book:
    http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/crea...=9781607052654
by Rayna Gillman. Then proceed to slice and dice and patch your surplus blocks and come up with something surprisingly beautiful!!!

If you're not going to use them, looks like "bluteddi" (who posted an answer to your question, too), would love to have them and put them to good use!!! Let your orphans live on and brighten someone's life! :-)

I collect all the left overs any one has and make charity quilts! Like a sampler and I just work with a color or two to pull it together!

Thank you to everyone that has donated their orphans to The American Veteran Project. MANY thanks to those that have donated blocks /fabric to my project..... I will be posting pics soon of some of the quilts created using YOUR blocks!!

Still so many Veterans out there needing their own quilt!

I slice and dice them and use them in crumb quilt squares. I love crumbing - and even the most unsightly orphan looks dazzling when crumbed up.

This. Also I've seen lots of scrappy backs that were designed based around trying to use orphan blocks. Check out Bonnie Hunter's quilts on her website quiltville.com - she uses LOTS of orphans in her backings! You can also get creative and use them as the labels...write names and info about the quilt in the light/neutral fabrics.

I make trivets out of them especially the smaller ones. There are some great free trivet patterns on line. For bigger blocks I've put borders or sashing around them and made an "under the sewing machine thingy" I have a pattern that I've developed, if you want it send me an email at [email protected]
