Thank you so much for all the feedback and tips etc. I really appreciate it. The frame is built and the Janome is out of its box. Unfortunately I am a bit sick at the moment so I am not going to able to play straight away. I know I am going to have to be patient and get used to tension etc. I know longarms are best but a longarm in the uk is way out of my price range. Who knows maybe years down the line. I will print of the list of tips and laminate it and hang it on the frame somewhere . The company I bought the frame, janome and surestitch from are very helpful on the phone and said when I ordered do not hesitate to phone them if I have any issues at all. I have dealt with them before and their after sales care is excellent.

I have that set up.. the gracie queen with the Janome 1600P. I do like it, but it has its moments. It's definitely picky, and it seems I have to adjust the settings for every quilt I do. I just got a regulator (had been using the speed control for the last year). the regulator has a learning curve. I feel like i'm starting all over again. If you use the speed control (which is much much cheaper), you can still get good results.. it's just harder to do intricate designs.

I had a Janome on a Grace Frame...It does NOT work....That kind of machine is not for a frame..you can sit & quilt but, as far as on a Quilting Frame...I had trouble the Whole time...There was a machine & frame donated to us & we tried it...It did NOT work either..We put the machine on the table & a lady machine quilts with it ...I took my old Gammill & put on that Frame...Plz don't waste your Money....
