What a wonderful story - I'm so glad you rescued it.
I have three treadles (Gramma's Singer, a Household and a Wheeler & Wilson) and I have them all on 'furniture movers' like you do, but mine don't work as well on carpet so I put either plywood, tile or linoleum under them so they 'treadle' much smoother. Each one just needed a new cord and some oil.
Have fun treadling!!!

Does anyone know what that odd thing on top of the machine is? Almost looks like you could make shoes on it. Sure is a unique machine. Congrats!

Good for you !! What a fantastic find - beautiful machine & a spectacular cabinet. It would have been such a pity if that had found its way to the dump - what a terrible thought !!!

Debbieoh,
I'm so glad that you saved this beautiful machine and cabinet from the dumpster. I've sewn with a New Home treadle and its a lovely machine. I'm shocked at what some people throw away.

Beautiful machine & cabinet. I have a machine that looks just like yours except it is a La Reine & the cabinet is a coffin style. I haven't been able to find any information at all on mine as of yet.
