I've been using Kaye Wood's binding method for years, its the best one I've ever used.

I machine sew all my bindings. I cut mine 2 1/2 inches wide and machine sew it to the back and top stitch it on the front.

I machine my binding, 2 1/2 inch strips. Sew to the back first, flip, iron, glue with washable elmers glue then iron agina, I then machine sew to the front, sometimes using a 1/4 inch foot and other times a decorative stitch.

Just a comment about this thread. There have been so many suggestions, all good, that I am confused as to how to do a binding. I read the original post as asking for instruction on how to bind a quilt. Am I correct.

Thanks everyone for responding. I am going to try sewing to the front, turn to the back and finish with stitching in the ditch. Wish me luck!! Thanks again.
