Jacob's Ladder looks good in two colors. My favorite - Storm at Sea - also looks good.

My grandson wanted a red and white quilt. I made a log cabin. It's my avatar. Also made a Jacobs ladder with two colors for another grandson.

One thought. I'm not very fond of my down comforter duvet cover because it makes it very heavy and also hot. I would stay with something simple that minimizes the piecing to reduce the weight & maybe use a very fine cotton sheet for one side to help further reduce it.
Red and White quilts are my favorite two color combo quilts..they are good for male or female http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty_XgIbH1hQ

I love the Hunter's Star for 2 colors. And if I may add - Deb Tucker's ruler makes it so quick and easy - and accurate.
