I did think of this a long time ago, but not with a bowl brush. I have an area rug in my sewing room. I have used a fairly stiff hand broom, like one that you get with a dustpan, for picking up fuzz and threads. It works very well for picking up threads before vacuuming, so I don't have to fight cleaning the brushes on the vacuum. I like the rug on the floor because it is warmer on the feet, especially with the cold we have had this winter.
