    Beautiful!!
I remember you posting about this in an earlier message. You did a fantastic job. The quilt looks like shimmering water. TFS.

Gorgeous Karla. Are you giving it to your daughter?
Yes. I have too many quilts here now (four I've kept and Mark's CW quilt, plus three are at the quilters!) and a soft wonderful afghan Rachel made for me. But, I didn't want to sell this one because of the story. I always ask the kids if they like a top--and Rachel has said before she likes the quilts, but she wants her second ragged flannel more. (That is going under construction soon!) Justin is 22 and has another year of college, and having more quilts (he has three) doesn't seem to be something he thinks about. His girl would love to have some quilts, and I'm making her a ragged flannel for Christmas (both girls selected colors), but I'm not ready to give her more until the relationship is formal--as in legal. They've been a couple for 2.5 years, and I love her, but.... one never knows. I've made her two nice wall hangings though.

ANYWAY--Rachel said she loves this top, but wouldn't want the quilt at college on the back of her couch--afraid something would happen to it, but she really loves it. So, I told her I'd get it quilted and save it for when she's ready. She's been kayaking with us, so understands the quilt's story. :D

That was a long answer to a simple question.

Absolutely beautiful work!!! It can always come to my house - I love the story that goes with the quilt and I remember seeing your pictures of the kayak trip!

Your top is just beautiful...you must be so very pleased that it has come together as you envisioned....I recall your working pictures as you auditioned your fabrics and colour placement. It is a wonderful realisation of your kayaking on your beautiful lakes and will give memories of a wonderful time with your family

I'm sure all of the superlatives have been used already but I have to say this is simply marvelous! You've captured the feel of kayaking on the lake very nicely. Just like your photos.
You do create the best stuff!!! What's next now?

Absolutley BEAUTIFUL, Karla. I'm sure you are "tickled pink" with the outcome. The mitered boarder came out wonderful. What technique did you use? I may have to try it!
