One of the items I have that I enjoy the most is a small wall hanging in my laundry room. It features a line of quilts hanging on a line. It measures about 14 inches by 18 inches. It is cheerful and unobtrusive. So, perhaps a small wall hanging for a non-prominent place?

I think it's hard to make something for someone if you don't know the colors of the home. I also find that moving into a house is a long process. I like to take homemade items like banana bread, pecan or apple bread that can be frozen and used anytime. At this time of year, a nice basket of annuals like geraniums and petunias look great on anyone's doorstep. I know this is a quilting board, but we don't always have to give items we sew.

the Fold 'n' Stitch wreath is a good idea in her colors. She can put a candle or elevated dish in the middle with some fruit. Could also get her a gift card (VISA, DISCOVER, AMERICAN EXPRESS) to buy groceries or items she may want to pick up in the future.

How about a nice wall hanging for christmas? I have been thinking about making one of those lighted christmas trees that you buy the panel and make. There are so many lovely christmas ones. I am trying to collect fabrics for a reindeer one for my entry way for this christmas. It has two reindeer faces smiling at you, done in batiks.

Seasonal coasters in a fabric box have been well received by my friends.

My daughter and SIL have everything too. Someone gave them a perpetual calender made out if wood and she really liked it. Unfortunately I don't have a picture or where it came from. But it looks folksy and crafty.

See if she'll give you a link to the realtor's photos of the house and make up a fabric picture of the house.

How about a couple of microwave bowl holders? These are shaped like a bowl. You putyour bowl in it then place the whole thing in the microwave. It's like a potholder for taking hot bowls out of the microwave and works great. Everyone I've made them for just love them and use them all the time.
