I work a lot so usually on weekdays I'm too tired to do any sewing, so most of my sewing is on the weekend. I'm fortunate to often have unstructured weekends where I can sew almost all weekend if that's what I want to do, so that's nice. And once a year I take a week off just for me (DH doesn't take that time off) and I usually spend that in a marathon sewing session.

This week my husband is out of town for a week for work, though, so I've taken over the whole house with sewing "stuff" and set up a folding table right smack in the middle of the TV room - I've been streaming Missouri Star quilting tutorials on the TV to entertain me while I've been hand-tying a king size double-batted quilt. It keeps me entertained all evening and I might as well take advantage of having the house to myself - it's a rare occurrence! I've been holding off on tying that quilt for almost a year because it's so big and heavy but now I have all the space to spread out that I want and nobody to grumble if I leave it overnight! I finished tying it last night and will stick the binding on tonight and then I'll whip up some matching pillowcases - DH will come home to a new winter quilt on our bed, which is LONG overdue! (I was teasing him about him needing to worry about leaving his "wild woman" home alone, with all the "mischief" I'll get up to in his absence...he's a lucky guy, isn't he? LOL)

I like to quilt in the afternoon because the sun comes the windows I sit by so nicely. However, that isn't always an option so I just take it whenever I can!

I like to quilt in the daylight hours so I can see what I am doing.

I am retired & I am one of those people that doesn't sleep very well. Maybe 3 hours & if I'm lucky I sleep 4 hours so my quilting time is most anytime during the day or night. It is nothing for me to be sewing at 2 or 3:00 in the am. Quiet & very peaceful & lots of fun!

I get up an hour before me DH and sew for a while. I take a coffee break when he gets up then sew 2-3 hours until I feel like I need a break and lunch-then back into the sewing studio until evening news time. I sometimes sew into the evening too.

I get up at o'dark thirty so by 8 pm I'm pretty much a pumpkin, I like to sew in the evening but I do brainless stuff like basic quilting or practice sandwiches, and no cutting in the evenings! Learned that the hard way...on the weekends I love to sew as much as possible, sewing keeps me sane, it's my therapy!! Although sometimes I wonder if a therapist would be cheaper...
