Elise, Your cat is definitely apprehensive about the banana circle. Although I do not presently have cats, I have owned many through the years. I could read a lot of their body language. For example, when they were anxious, their tails always went down, like they were about to tuck it underneath their body--just like your cat is doing in the photo. When their tails were straight up in the air, we said that they were "happy all the way" When they were irritated, their tails would swish quickly back and forth. I miss having cats. Yours are beautiful!

Linda, Technically your kitty is inside a circle. I used to have 2 black cats. The first one I named Magic. The second one my daughter named Bandit, but I nicknamed him Satan, beacuse he loved to rip things up... like my legs, for example

I can't reduce pics correctly for this board (which frustrates me incredibly but that's another issue) but our cat Beethoven used to just tickle me. I had a round floor basket in the living room to catch magazines, and he made it his own. Then when we had company once, he decided that the guest room sink was his and he curled up in there. Didn't want strangers taking over his territory. He hadn't gone in there before they came, and didn't go there again, but sure made it clear while they were here. What a little character he was. Miss him so much.

One of my kittens used to sleep inside a bread basket. I had it on a shelf, and I found him sleeping in it all the time, until he became too fat to fit inside. Of course I had to make a new basket for bread.
I had 3 and 4 cats at once. My husband and I noticed that most of the time they would practice triangulation, much like a pride of lions do. Those of you who have 3 or more cats--notice how they position themselves when they are together. Do they form a triangle? Supposedly this type of body positioning is used when hunting and to protect the pride from predators. Cats are the most interesting creatures.
