Calculating Stash Fabric
#31
I could swear I once saw a post on how to calculate how much fabric one has. In it was a rough estimate of how many yards would fit in a square foot. Based on that, you multiply your square feet of storage and viola!
Of course, now that I have been asked how much I have, I can't find it. Does anyone remember seeing this?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Mine is very small compared to what I see online. I recently sorted it out. Leftovers is in 1 medium size bin.And just part of a cabinet has 1 square foot shelves, stores 1 shelf Christmas/Holidays fabrics and the other 3 mostly florals some blender few novelty fabrics just little stacks half or third full, 1/2 yrd ,2/3 yrd, some FQ and 3 big pieces 1 1/2 yrds.
I used to have slightly more but made a lot into pillowcases so I can enjoy the fabrics instead of it sitting unused. I hand quilt and I hand sew. Hand sewing pillow cases I find very relaxing as I am homebound with health issues. Just finished a hand sewn poinsettia pillowcase now. I do some crochet when my hands cooperate but have just a hatcase of yarn no use having more, now I only crochet small items. Still to finish 2 shawl UFOs.
