Barney, yep, 320 geese. I make them 4 at a time, so start with 80 green squares and 320 neutral squares. Making them is a piece of cake.

Beautiful. My hats off to you and all of you that hand quilt. I do not have the patience for it and I admire the beautiful work that ll of you do. I tell myself that one day I will hand quilt a project, but always renege and go to the machine!

Klswift, I big stitch, so it is a lot faster. Try something small like a wall hanging or table topper.

Lovetosew, hoping to move back to the Phoenix Valley. Right now we are 30 minutes south and hubby works there again. Son will be going to school there in fall, so it doesn't make sense to drive 2 cars that far every day...

Wonderful quilt - so graceful and calming.
Great choice for the backing and love the big stitching.

Lovely quilt. Haven't tried the big stitch hand quilting yet, but you make me want to try!

Lap quilt size and most of the flying geese are made with green charms from a swap on this board. The rest was all from my stash. Back is a cotton sheet I had that the hems were in bad shape, cut it down for a soft backing. I started this on Thanksgiving, started the hand quilting on Dec. 7 and finished the hand quilting on Dec. 25. All done while my house is on the market (lots of interruptions for showings, had to put everything away, etc). So glad it is done and ready to mail. I big stitch quilted this with Aurifil 12wt threads in 2 different variegated colors. I make the flying geese 4 at a time using Deb Tucker's Wing Clipper tool. I don't usually buy specialty rulers, but hers makes the job much faster and easier!
It will become a Family Treasure. Do you mind telling us what you use for thimble and frame or hoop for your hand quilting?

Great quilt. I love green so this one really appeals to me. I too love Deb Tucker's wingclipper ruler. That is the only one of hers that I have and it is so much fun to make FG units with it.
