what color binding would you use?

I would use the black. That will let your blocks stand out.

How about a pieced binding using scraps from all the other colors if you have enough? I've done that with two quilts and loved the results.

I agree. Black gets my vote, too. Couldn't help but laugh at the reply from AprilM and her reasoning for using existing fabric. She's right!

If you are confident of your binding technique and have enough of the gold, that would look nice. If not you could try the black.

Black is easier, it will hide your mistakes if your binding is not perfect and will also hide dirt. Gold will add an extra layer of visual interest.

I'm going to go with the minority votes. I like the yellow, it would make a nice frame to the whole quilt.
Black will disappear..... unless, of course, that's what you want. I have made the odd quilt that I didn't want the binding to show up so used the last border fabric.
It all depends on the quilt and how you want it to look.
