I want to skip the parade-to many people with their dogs! (Don't get me wrong, I like dogs, just not in a crowd like that) and see the fireworks, Hubby on the other hand has to see the parade and hates the fireworks,

Big doings! Friends and family will be here. Every body brings a covered dish - more macaroni salad than you can shake a stick at! Last week I picked rapsberries and froze them - a tradition that I make raspberry custard pies for the dessert table. We have a pool that the kids will live, the horseshoe pit for the guys, lots of shade, a firepit to burn marshmallows and 2 hammocks! There will be water games - my daughter has 800 waterballoons. Some will camp out and we'll have pancakes and sausages for breakfast the next morning. A couple years ago my husband put an addition on the polebarn and whatever goes in there, he said it has to be moved easily. Three years ago, we had our daughter's wedding here on the farm and the caterer set up in there. Afterwards, they cranked up the tunes and there was dancing. The barn had worked out so well we started having picnics on the 4th that everyone shows up for. Maybe 50 this year?

The whole family goes to my parent's summer place every 4th. This year though I think it is just me and the dogs. I get a six day weekend! So, mom and I will be quilting up a storm. She has the most awesome quilting room above the garage and spends about 5-6 hours a day there except when I visit. Then it is 8 hours a day and we have such fun! Heber, AZ has the most incredible fireworks display and my 95 year old former MIL, plus SIL and Aunt will be in town so we will entertain them I hope for lunch. Can't wait until Thursday morning............

People are so great it makes me so tearful and humble. I can go shopping and someone I dont know will ask me How is Jerry doing.? Prayers please everyone for remission. He is only 57 years young.
