I think if you had put one more row of half sq. triangles in the middle so the sides out from them(top and bottom) would be the same colors in the same arrangement, it would be awesome. Love the colors

I like it also maybe a dark binding would have helped with how you viewed it as being a finished product.

I agree with the people who said that you may be reacting to the large scale print of the green with the red pointsettias. How about fussy cutting a few more red flowers to add to the blank green areas, perhaps even parts of flowers for the green half-square triangles; then, applique them on. Then you could just continue any quilting lines that you have covered and it will look like they were part of the original fabric.
