I save everything. If it's 1" or larger it gets cut into strips and squares. My friend made a small log cabin border with 1" strips and it's so cute, so I want to do that someday for a wall hanging. Anything smaller than 1 gets tossed into a basket that sits on the floor by my cutting table and someday, when I have enough, I'll stuff a dog bed or something with them and give it to one of my dog owner friends. I also save bits of batting in this basket too. I hate to waste anything!

I am almost afraid to say what I did last year(before I knew people wanted them)
For years I kept EVERYTHING, and last spring When I was off work because of necksurgery, I decided to organize my closet.
I threw away 3 kitchensize trashbag full   of scraps, some as big as 10/10.
I cant believe I admitted that :D

Yep, I'm one of them! Using those little squares for beginners and enders.

When I am in the piecing mood, I use scraps that size. Usually in making Pot Holders. Anything else would go too slow.

Please, explain a crumb quilt. I cannot envision it.

Never too small to use - have a look at Susan Carlson's website:

I'm making a postage stamp quilt right now that requires 1 1/2" pieces. I'm cheating a bit right now because I'm cutting 1 1/2" strips and sewing them together, then slicing them.

I don't have all the 4,000+ pieces already so I'm just sewing as I go, as sort of a "leader and ender" project. I also figure I can buy charm packs and get 9 pieces out of each charm.
