I don't understand why anyone WOULD NOT own a pistol, rifle, shotgun.... I own several of all 3, many calibers . I do think if you are afraid of guns, you are a danger to yourself. Been shooting all my life. And as the saying goes, you will have to pry it out of my cold dead hands.

BESIDES GUNS WE HAVE MANY, MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF BOWS AND ARROWS. MY HUSBAND MAKES LONG BOWS AND ALSO ARROWS. SOME OF THE FEATHERS ARE MADE FROM TURKEYS HE HAS KILLED. WE ALSO EAT THE WILD GAME AND FISH HE GETS.

I firmly believe that we have only ourselves to depend upon for protection. If you have to rely on the Police...you might as well preplan your funeral. And this is coming from a woman who has a son who is a Deputy Sheriff and a Son-in-law who is an Asst. Police Chief. If we don't take care of ourselves, who will?? By the same token, I truly think that those who are afraid of guns, should stay away from them. Guns don't kill people...people do. If you are going to own a firearm(s)...Make sure you know how to use it properly. I grew up around guns, so it is very natural to me. My DH is a disabled Vietnam Vet and he would expect no less of me.

I also live on a farm. Who ya gonna call to *relocate* varmints who get your stock? Will I shoot? Heck yes. And I hope I never have to squeeze off rounds at a human, but if it's me or them...guess who will defend herself.
