New here with an old quilt

I'd suggest that you make a permanent fabric label to go on the quilt, giving all this same information. And dates. These quilts will probably be treasured far into the future, and you would want your aunt and her mother's names to be remembered.

I had to read every post so I didn't miss any of the story! That's awesome! Some of my family moved to Texas via Mississippi also. I have one family piece that survived the trip so I know what a treasure you have!

Also, can you tell if the stars are pieced into the block or appliqued onto the top?
