Ditto. I am a believer in respecting old people & old things. The stories they can tell are worth listening to. :-D
If you have an old quilt in your family, you should record (audio or video) the person who knows the most about it in your family & can tell how it came about or who it was intended for. These stories are precious, and often lost.

My grandmother was the keeper of the family history in stories. pictures, & objects. She shared it all with me, & I never forgot. It can mean a lot more to your descendants who may acquire these things if they know more about them.

Glad you rescued the beautiful quilt! Nice work.

    That is a treasure.

I have an old quilt top that I was trying to sell, and I always pictured it looking like this when someone would have finished it. Vintage old fabric, puckered quilting and comfy looking.

    Yours is wonderful.

They do. Her boyfriend's parents got the quilt as a wedding gift. You can see that it was used and was loved. So it has alot of meaning for him to have it. I think next time she is here, we can make a label for the back with the info we know about it so nobody ever forgets.

You should have it finished. It gives it so much more. This one was tied with yarn and we cut them all out.
