I later washed the quilt to block it for quilt shows, so the stabilizer disappeared.

Take your time. This is doable!!

Thank you for the kind comments on my wolf. It is 40" in diameter. I have around 100 hours in it all together - the tracing and cutting of the wolf pieces took the longest. When you use fusible, you do need to get as close to the edge as possible if you don't want it lifting up - fusing isn't permanent without that help! I used a size 16 needle in my LA and all but 3 of the pieces of fabric were batiks. It was about 8 layers of material with fusible in the thickest part.

If you would like, send me a PM with your email address and I'll email you pictures you can see more easily.

Just wanted to say, How wonderful and realistic your bear is. It looks like it may walk out of that quilt any moment. Great job.

Here is the moose. Enlarged and edges satin stitched then sandwiched and quilted.

This one was NOT enlarged (my sister did it) and quilted it on the LA. It looked like a carpet with all the threads waiting to be buried! I think it has more thread than batting!

Beautiful! When you say enlarged, do you mean that you made it bigger than the pattern? I like your background too. Did you design it yourself?

Yes, I enlarge most of the patterns I do. I like big pieces not little ones. I spray painted the sky and water fabric and put in some hills. I don't like piecing (never seem to get it right unless done by hand).
