Have you ever cut yourself with a rotary cutter??

Got a bumpy scar on my left middle finger from a 'cutter jump' which took off a smidge of the finger tip and nail. Did not bleed on fabric but DH heard me loud and clear! I think I needed it to happen because I'm a lot more careful with the cutter now. I guess some of us have to learn the hard way.

Yes, tried to cut off my first knuckle. Looked down, said "I don't think I should have done that....gollygee (and more). Should have had stitches, but being a nurse I knew I could fix it with steri-strips. A much more careful now. Hope your's healed well.

Been there, done that. Almost cut off the side/tip of one finger, serves me right for sitting down doing it, instead of standing, like I normally do. Haven't sat down to do it since. LOL Glad you're okay and so is the fabric.

I haven't personally......knock on wood, but was at a class just yesterday where our instructor did just that and she bled so badly she had to go get stitches in her hand and we had to reschedule the class. Another gal said this same instructor dropped the rotary cutter on her foot while teaching another class a while ago. Glad to hear yours wasn't so bad that you needed stitches. Really have to have a healthy respect for rotary cutters.

Yes, I have .. but when I was at joanns recently with my daughter we found a 24" guard to put on the edge of the ruler. She insisted I get that for myself since I was at her house when I cut myself. It works great. doesn't get in the way at all and I feel better about cutting now.

Thankfully, I have not. I have probably jinzed myself. I am always extra careful. I don't want to have to get stitches. I would have to walk to the er.  No buses around here after 5:30 pm.

I guess we should all stock up with klutz gloves! I make sure I always wear something on my feet when cutting. I have the Olfa that you have to squeeze to open the blade. Been lucky & haven't cut myself so far.

Oh Yes! Not bad enough for stitches, but still bled bad! One summer afternoon, sat out on the lawn chair with the mat on my lap. Was just cutting small pieces and was doing pretty good, until, oops, it slipped! By the time I could get things laid down and to the door to yell for paper towels, it was dripping a lot! Last time I cut with the mat on my lap!
