You might try the local adult school programs, some have quilting. What are you waiting for? Jump in, this board and the library are good places to start. Start small, like a pot holder of mug rug, until you find a piece that "speaks to you" and then you'll know what you truly want to make.

Welcome from Porter Ok. Glad you could join us. If you have a singer just get it serviced & start on small projects take some classes soon you will be sewing . You don't have to have an expensive machine to sew a straight stitch. If the one you have works use it . But get it in good working order to save the frustration later. Happy sewing.

You came to the right place to learn. Definitely get some lessons, even try the local high school for classes on sewing. When you get started in this "hobby", you will be in for a delightful friend for life. Welcome from Central PA.

Welcom aboard. We are glad you are here. Let us know what we can do for you. A real newbie, wow, you are in for an adventure of your life. QWuilting is the best hobby you can have. At least I think so. Many have let you know best places to start. You LQS is always a great resource for beginning help on a first project. Start with a wall hanging or table runner with a simple pattern and work up from there. When we start to big, this comes from being one who started to big, we get frustrated and do not learn the process and enjoy the ride. Have fun.
